Did you know there is a desperate need for food amongst children and teens in the Towson area and along the York Road corridor? There are approximately 50,000 students receiving free and reduced meals in Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS), close to 3,000 of them are also classified as homeless. St. Paul’s Lutheran has recently joined the efforts of Food for Thought Baltimore County and the Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) to support the urgent needs of our local community.
We are partnering with BCPS Student Support Services to provide bags of nutritious food for Dulaney High School students in need to take home for the weekends during the school year. In the 2019-2020 school year, St. Paul’s is sponsoring 11 students on a weekly basis. Please consider supporting this effort through food donations, packing bags the 1st Sunday of every month after the traditional service starting in January, or transporting food bags to Dulaney High School School. This is a great opportunity to support a growing need in our community, as well as fellowship within the church!
Here’s how you can get involved!
- Sign-up to donate food or transport food bags on the Sign-Up Genius website.
- Help pack food bags the 1st Sunday of each month after the Traditional Worship service in the Spangler Hall Kitchen – no sign-up required.
