After careful planning and conversations about safety and readiness to welcome dozens of children and adults into our buildings at St. Paul’s, we have unfortunately decided that we will not be holding our traditional Vacation Bible School program this year. While this is tremendously disappointing, and we will miss this year’s opportunity to grow in faith and love of God together, we will have next summer to look forward to gathering again, which we have tentatively scheduled for August 9-13, 2021. In the meantime, we have a wonderful opportunity to share through a partnership of our Delaware-Maryland Synod and Mar-Lu-Ridge Camp & Retreat Center:
The Delaware-Maryland Synod of the ELCA is excited to provide a free At-Home Vacation Bible School program for children preschool through 5th grade! We will spend the week of August 3rd together asking: “Where’s Jesus?”
There will be three days of programming on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday that will incorporate many favorite aspects of VBS summer camps. On Tuesday and Thursday, material will be provided for families to engage together in the theme of “Where’s Jesus”. A schedule will be provided that families can use in whatever ways that work best for your home.
This week will offer opportunities to engage with the theme both on and off screens. You may register for a DVD or USB copy of our “Where’s Jesus?” VBS, which is perfect for anyone without home internet or internet-capable devices along with families who would prefer to engage in the week this way.
Although VBS is entirely free-of-charge, we invite you to consider donating to our synod’s COVID-19 Relief Fund when you register for VBS.
