Visiting on Sunday morning

The primary gathering for our community is Sunday morning when we are together for worship and learning! Our Contemporary Worship service gathers in Spangler Hall at 9:00am and is led by our Praise Team, while our Traditional Worship service gathers in the historic sanctuary at 11:00am and is led by organ and choir. All of our worship is festive and liturgical, following the seasons of the church year and the Revised Common Lectionary that guide our readings.

Dress for worship is most often very casual, though some people like to dress up a little more for festival and holiday Sundays. But when the Ravens play, you’re likely to see lots of jerseys in the assembly… maybe for the Orioles too if they’re playing well that year! Feel free to come as you are – we’re glad to have you as our guest.

We celebrate Communion at all of our worship services, and you are welcome at the Table! Children who have not yet prepared for Communion and any who are not ready to commune are welcome to come forward for a blessing. We typically prepare young people to receive Communion in the spring during the season of Lent leading up to Easter.

Children are very welcome in either service, and we are happy for their presence and their joy! At the 9:00am service we have a Prayground space with tables and coloring to help keep them connected during worship. At the 11:00am service we have lap-pads that children can use at their seats, and there are guides to help them follow the service in the pew racks. In either space, their voices, noises, and wiggly-ness adds to the joy and celebration of being together.

Between the services we have opportunities for learning for all ages. Check out our weekly newsletter to see what the current offerings are.

Visiting During the Week

Guests during the week are generally coming to one of three places:

  • Church Office: Look for the green awning alongside the playground in the Parish Hall building.
  • Preschool Entrance: Follow the signage to the breezeway between the Parish Hall and Sanctuary buildings to enter through the glass doors. For those visiting between drop-off and pick-up hours, please come through the Church Office entrance.
  • Community & Support Groups: Groups meet in our Spangler Hall building, entering through the front doors off the parking lot or the stair-free entrance in the back of the building.
